Around the World in Two and a Half Days

I don't know why I can't get excited about Steve Fossett's first solo non-stop flight around the world, completed earlier today, but there you go... Normally I love these kinds of technical achievements, but it just seems so ordinary! Maybe because it's all about two idiotically rich guys, the other guy being Richard Branson, trying to fabricate excitement in their lives.

Still, it's a cool looking airplane. So slippery that it needs special parachutes to slow down enough to land! Reminds me of the P-38, a beautiful fighter plane from WWII.

Listening to: Cuts You Up by Peter Murphy from Wild Birds 1985-1995.
