Schadenfreude

Pleasure taken from someone else's misfortune. (German)

Friday evening I got an automated message from my old company's help desk after hours system. The contact number hasn't been changed yet. I joyfully hung up on it. The system kept re-dialing every ten minutes though so after an hour or so of enjoying hanging up on it I entered the password and listened to the message. Seems the day after I was escorted out the door the company's internet connection failed. I called the manager (a good guy) who was reporting the problem and told him "sorry, you won't get any help from me."

It felt good to see them suffering so quickly after dismissing me. It bugged me not to be able to fix the problem though, 'cause that's what I like to do.

Listening to: Walking Away by Craig David from Born To Do It.
