Too Much Talking

I took up swimming again in the Fall. I haven't really worked out in the pool for many years (in high school and university I "swam varsity"), but I'm right back into it these days... The municipal pool has length swimming sessions several times a day, I'm even toying with the idea of doing a triathlon.

Today everyone in the fast lane wanted to chat. I learned all about the kids Michelline is coaching, and about Warren's back problems. Another guy complained about how bossy Michelline is. A woman gave me some advice on triathlons. Damn it, I had 2000 metres to get through!

Just as well I'm still recovering from Thursday night's "Holiday" Party at work. I have 288 digital photos from that night. I don't think I can really post anything here though. Too many stories about bloggers getting nailed for writing about being a flight attendant or working at Microsoft!

  1. I never talk about work - I have spyware on my computer at work so they know the sites they go to so I KNOW they know about my site. Not to mention, my job is about as boring as hell so there's not much to talk about anyway. ;)

  2. They could SO fire me anytime they wanted to for talking about work on my blog. The very first time I mentioned where I worked on it, some conservative blogger immediately e-mailed me to get some kind of inside dirt on my employer. I'm still not careful about it though, so maybe it's a less than sub-conscious effort to find myself a new career.

  3. I can't find the link right now, but I read recently about a blogger who got a visit from the Secret Service for threatening, but satirical, remarks made about George W.

I guess I should dig out my tinfoil hat again in case they can read my thoughts!

  5. I work at the Running Room. My greatest fear is that my employer finds out about my disdain for walking breaks, fuel belts, low-mileage training plans and overpriced gear. I actually enjoy working there, but it's sometimes tough as a competitive runner.

  6. Hi Adeel,

That's funny that you're a Running Room "drone"! I've been trying to find information about preparing for triathlons and have been toying with signing up for one of the Running Room's clinics. Any "anonymous" opinions to offer?

  7. Running Room clinics are absolute garbage. I don't know about the guy that works there, but I've taken one and it's useless. You're much better off keeping your money and training on your own.

My long run for indoor track, in the first week after a three-week layoff, was longer than the long run of a half marathon clinic in week 3-4.
